One Stamp, Two Butterflies
I'm keeping with the butterfly theme over at Blockheads. However, I decided to challenge myself and use just one stamp to make two completely different cards. You heard me. One single, solitary stamp. Yes, me, Barb. No, I have not gone (completely) off my rocker.
I used the butterfly stamp from Blockheads set Grunge Collages. I used a variety of Alcohol Inks for either card on glossy cardstock. I stamped the image using StazOn Ink.
For the blue butterfly above, I colored in the body with a brown sharpie. Then I stamped the butterfly two more times on glossy paper, colored the wings with Distress Ink and my Dove Blender Pen. Then I cut out both sets of wings and glued spacers to the underside of each wing, and then glued each set to the image. This gives the wings more of a dimensional, fluttery look.
For the card below, I stamped the image a second time, again on glossy card stock. I colored it in with a yellow marker, and then just cut out one wing and a couple of the corners for contrast. I used a marker to color only the border and stamped it on coordinating papers.
Give it a whirl. Just one stamp. Let me know what you come up with.
And now, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to stare at my beautiful snow!
