Ever have one of those weeks where several things seem to happen and/or require your attention at once? No? Never? Yeah. Me neither. (Careful you don't slip in my oozing sarcasm.)
It's been a busy week or so and I had to come up with some cards to send for various occasions. I didn't have a lot of extra time to come up with new and different designs. Since I've been lost in a flutter of butterfly wings this past month, thanks to Blockheads' butterfly theme for the design team, I decided to just run with that. This is the last butterfly post for a while though, I promise! That being said, I love using butterflies in my work and often do.
For these three cards, I came up with a basic design and simply switched out colors and sentiments. That made it much easier and faster to put together the cards that I needed.
For the butterflies in all of these, I used the butterfly stamp from Blockheads 123 Backgrounds set. For the sentiments in the first two cards I chose from Blockheads Feel Better - Verses set, and for the final card I used the "Amore" stamp from Blockheads Love and Hearts set.
The card above was stamped using Brilliance Pearlescent Sky Blue. I love the pearlized inks that Brilliance makes. They give any project a nice soft shimmer. They take slightly longer to dry (more like a craft ink rather than a water based ink), but they're worth it.
For this card I wanted a slightly more elegant look, so I decided to emboss the sentiment, using embossing ink, gold embossing powder, and my heat setting tool. The butterflies were done with Distress Ink.
The final example below was done entirely using Distress Inks.

It's posts like these that make me feel like maybe I CAN make some cards--thank you for the inspiration, Barb!
