I have been busy making a calendar for my mother for Christmas. Don't worry, she won't see this. She wants nothing to do with computers. She still refers to internet communications between my siblings and I as "that email thing". I have tried, quite unsuccessfully, to explain Facebook to her because I use it to talk to my nephews. Her mind won't go past, "How can you possibly have a conversation on a computer?!" So, I gave up. Now it's just, "We keep in touch. I heard he bought a new car.... etc."
I digress.
I have to make this a fast post. I'm late as it is and I have miles to go before I sleep. I thought I would share a couple of the calendar pages that I've made for her 2013 calendar.
The page above is the one I will be using for February. What's more warming on a wintery February day in Michigan than a hot cup of cocoa? I made it using Blockheads Coffee Tea stamp set and Artistic Outpost's Think and Wonder stamp set. I stamped the main image on glossy white paper using StazOn Jet Black ink. Then I sponged over it, up to the image, using Distress Ink. Using a blender pen and distress ink, I colored in the image.
I selected a light blue cardstock for my background that I stamped the rings and blotches on using Distress ink. I glued on the main image, and then to bring it all together, I stamped and cut out a mug. I also used glossy paper for the mug just to give it a shiny, more authentic look.
This is the design I'll be using for May. I like it because it has that soft, warm "Mom" feeling to it. For this one I used Blockheads Grunge It Up, 123 Backgrounds, and Grunge Collages. Again, I stamped the main image on glossy white using StazOn Jet Black ink. I just like the really crisp image that combination produces. This one I also colored in using my blender pen and distress inks.
I'd love to stay and chat, but I have to finish this calendar before 2013!

Great projects, Barb!!
